MARPOL Amendments, 2005 Edition This publication contains recent amendments to the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973, as modified by the Protocol of 1978 relating thereto (MARPOL 73/78) and later amended. Amendments to the Condition Assessment Scheme that was included in the “Additional Information” section of the 2002 consolidated edition of MARPOL 73/78, to regulations of Annex I, and to regulations of Annexes IV and V have been adopted by various MEPC resolutions after the consolidated edition was published in January 2002. Although amendments to Annexes I and II were adopted by the fifty-second session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee in October 2004, they are not included in this publication. The text of the revised regulation 13G of MARPOL Annex I supersedes the text that was included in the “Additional Information” section of the 2002 consolidated edition. Unified interpretations of the text of several regulations of Annex I have also been adopted by the Committee, and are included in this publication. The text of the revised MARPOL Annex IV supersedes that of item 6 of the Additional Information in the 2002 consolidated edition
